So Thankful for Friends

I'm so thankful for girl friends!  When I moved to Brazil over 4 years ago, I remember being worried about whether I would be able to connect to the women here.  I am so thankful to say that I am blessed with an abundance of friends!  Every other week, many of the women from our mission get together to pray.  We're all so different - ages, backgrounds, interests, etc, but we all have so much in common at the same time...the desire to serve God in the same way.

And I also have a few American friends too.  Most of the women from our mission are Brazilian, which is wonderful, but I can't tell you how awesome it is to at least have a few people who I can speak in English with!  We're also super different, but we have SO much fun together!  It just isn't the same joking in a second language, so it always seems that all of our fun and jokes that we don't get to do in Portuguese day-to-day, are made up for when we get to see each other and chat in English.

It's so awesome to be friends with all of these beautiful women.  It's wonderful to have friends with whom we can share everything from prayer requests and struggles to recipes, jokes, baby advice, and sweaters.  Being so far away from my three real sisters, I'm thankful to God for filling in the hole a little with all of these other sisters in Christ.
